This Week in Metal (2/9)

  • MONDAY - Metal Mondays at Footsies.  There's also an invasion of metal bands from the great city of Montreal at the Whisky, including Despised Icon, Beneath the Massacre, Neuraxis and the Plasmarifle.
  • TUESDAY - Napalm Death and Giant Squid release new albums.  Matt Bayles, who has produced, engineered, and mixed albums by Mastodon, Isis and Russian Circles, does the same on Giant Squid's The Icthylogist.
  • WEDNESDAY - Cradle of Filth, Satyricon, and Septic Flesh at the Henry Fonda.  We have tickets to give away.   Here's a review of the Vancouver show by Metal Sucks. 
  • THURSDAY - Night Horse (less metal than cock rock) is a whole lotta fun and features Justin Maranga from Ancestors on guitar.  They're playng Spaceland with Dirty Sweet from San Diego.
  • FRIDAY - Don Cab at Spaceland.  The new album, Punkgasm, hasn't blow the critics away like usual, but their live shows never disappoints.
