  • The new ISIS record, Wavering Radiant, is available for pre-order.  Here's some behind the scenes footage of the recording sessions, and they will be rocking the Fonda on June 24.  We will have a ticket giveaway for this one.
  • I was prepared to be disappointed by MASTODON's new album, Crack the Skye.  This performance of Thin Lizzy's "Emerald" with Scott Gorman looking on approvingly shows how wrong I was to think they would lose their way.  MASTODON's only scheduled performance in the L.A. area is the Saturday at Coachella.
  • Tickets for the Los Angeles Murderfest are on sale being held May 9-10 at Knitting Factory.  I was thinking I would just go Sunday to see EYEHATEGOD, SOURVEIN, et al., but the rare opprotunity to see Japan's COFFINS is something I cannot pass up. (SMN)
  • Local thrashers WARBRINGER share the cover art to their second album, Waking Into Nightmares, due out on Century Media Records on May 19th. (Blistering)
  • PItchfork publishes its occassional Show No Mercy column, including an interview with KYLESA who will be joining INTRONAUT for a show at the Echoplex on April 17.  Our ticket giveaway for that show will begin next week.  Mr. Show No Mercy's comment that "Isis' Wavering Radiant makes for nice background music" seems pretty harsh, but he's apparently heard it - I have not.
